Hey Kings & Queens,

 

My name is Leonie-Seann, and I am an Artist, Graphic designer, Animator, and Entrepreneur.

 

I have created this blog, to bring awareness to my brand (La'Ebony) as well as give advice, hair tips and share my views to the world.

 

My brand La'Ebony, was created to uplift black females all around the world, to allow black women to feel confident, creative and beautiful and have a product that represents them in a positive way.

My first venture was "bookmarks", I decided to create curvy, sassy illustrations of brown girls and handmake them into bookmarks to encourage girls to read more, as I feel like we are stuck in a world full of materialism, everyone is obsessed  with how they look on the outside, and not working on the inside.

 

A lot of people stereotype attractive women, they see them as ditsy, and if you are an attractive BLACK woman, in my experience all you get recognized for is your body. I want to break societies mould they have on black women, this "angry black girl" statement I hear flying around, instead I want us to be recognized for the true beautiful Queens we are.- But that starts with us! WE need to recognize ourselves as Queens, WE need to educate ourselves (read)

WE need to own things that represent ourselves in a good light, so that WE can break society’s stereotypes, and make our OWN!

 

By making my bookmarks, it will not only encourage women to read more but they will feel pretty while doing so- reading doesn’t  have to be unattractive, it doesn't have to be seen as "nerdy" what it should be seen as is sexy.

An intelligent woman is far more valued and respected than JUST a beautiful one.

My bookmarks will help women/girls to feel either sexy, girly, sassy AND smart, and not be afraid to get out a book in fear of what the mind of the materialistic think. 

 

Other than bookmarks, I have created many other products for every brown girl to enjoy, as growing up, I did not have anything that represented me, as a little black girl with afro hair. I want to create for this generation, what I didn't have in mine.

 

I make beautiful black/brown girls, on various products in the hope that EVERYONE of all races ages and sexes will appreciate and celebrate!

 

I am happy that that I have come this far with my business, and hope to progress and spread the love and passion I have for art and black woman all around the globe
